Why participate in the circular economy?

The climate objectives of the province of North Holland

Climate & Energy By 2050, Noord-Holland wants to be climate neutral and circular. The goal: to reduce CO2 emissions and the use of fossil fuels. They also want to be resistant to extreme weather changes. This has consequences for living, working, transport and agriculture, for example. In the Netherlands, we are working on the energy transition, on a circular economy, sustainable living and sustainable infrastructure. We also ensure that the energy network can handle these changes. The province contributes to innovative technology to achieve these goals. (source: Province of North Holland)

Our customers ask for Refurbished office chairs

We like to actively contribute to a circular economy. And our customers also increasingly want an office chair that is entering their 2nd or sometimes their 3rd life. You notice that the circular economy is increasingly embraced by corporate companies. That is another reason for us to continuously review our range and gradually expand with products that also contribute to a circular society.

For example, our T-RIX sit stand Raiser in front of your laptop with the FSC quality mark. With this too we hope to make our contribution to less waste and a better environment.

The circular Homework Chair

We have found a manufacturer who can reupholster office chairs and does everything in its power to waste as little material as possible. HomeOfficeShop and this manufacturer find it important to keep our ecological footprint as small as possible. Economic development must not be at the expense of the environment. This manufacturer is preparing for the future. This is reflected in major and minor adjustments:

  • The building is climate neutral
  • The refurbished office chairs are packed in environmentally friendly biodegradable plastic bags.
  • Waste is extra thoroughly separated: metals, cardboard and various plastics.
  • Coffee is drunk from stone crockery.

RE-used office chair – Are you buying a good Office chair?

The refurbished office chairs have been thoroughly cleaned and the mechanical parts replaced if necessary. The upholstery is covered with circular fabric. What would otherwise have polluted our nature now makes our furniture more beautiful. Because the Regain fabric is made from recycled PET bottles. In a process that uses much less water and energy than traditional upholstery fabrics.

An additional advantage is that the Regain fabric has a strength of 100,000 martindale (100,000 revolutions to thread breakage), which is stronger than the standard fabrics used on office chairs. These often have a maximum strength of 60,000 martindale. If the office chairs can no longer be used again, they are completely disassembled, after which the materials are sorted.

Plastic in the office chair:

The plastics used in A-brand office chairs are often made of PP plastic, which has several advantages. It is a strong, but flexible plastic, which means that an office chair will last longer. Another advantage is that PP plastic is very easy to recycle as a raw material.

Unusable office chairs

After office chairs are no longer usable, they are completely disassembled and the materials separated. After the PP parts have been washed, they are ground and eventually granulate remains for the plastics industry. The steel of the office chair is 100% recyclable. Steel retains its quality with every recycling stroke. Aluminum: Recycling 1 ton of aluminum saves 6 tons of bauxite and 9 tons of CO2 emissions. Worldwide, the recycling of aluminum saves more than 100 million tons of CO2 annually. In this way, HomeOfficeShop and its manufacturers are committed to reducing waste and reusing as many products as possible.
